African Masks and the Ndebele Tribe

We moved from South America to Africa!!!  Second grade learned about the Ndebele tribe (pronounced n-da-belly) and we took a look at the tribe's traditional dress wear and their unique houses!  We learned about geometric shapes and pattern.

Fourth Grade learned about African masks and why they are important to many cultures throughout the world.  Some African tribes use masks to tell stories, for celebrations and ceremonies, to honor their people, and when going to war.  Since it is also close to Halloween, I gave the students the option to do a spooky mask if they wanted to.
